The College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) houses the disciplines that study natural and mathematical phenomena and their applications. Students gain knowledge and skills within each of these fields, becoming informed citizens that can effectively serve society as teachers, researchers, and inventors. New horizons are explored and explained through critical thought, investigative proficiency, and effective communication in the ethical pursuit of knowledge. A Bachelor of Science can be earned in biology, chemistry, information technology, and mathematics. Engineering programs offered in coordination with the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville include mechanical and electrical engineering. Teacher licensure can be gained in biology with life/earth science, chemistry with physical/earth science, or mathematics. The faculty of STEM invite you to join us in the “Frontier of Discovery” as we pursue solutions to some of today’s challenges. You will receive excellent preparation for your future education, whether it is in the degrees that we offer or in professions such as a medical doctor, pharmacist, veterinarian, or dentist. A degree in a STEM discipline will open many more doors than you may realize and STEM graduates are in high demand. If any of these areas intrigue you, we would like to talk with you about the possibilities. Browse STEM’s website and feel free to contact any of the individuals in your area of interest. These are exciting times at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and the College. You will see it when you visit the campus. We invite you to be a part of the future here in Fort Smith. Thank you for stopping by and we hope to hear from you soon.
