A dance clinic for girls age 3 through ninth grade will be held Dec. 6 at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, with participants performing at the UA Fort Smith basketball game Dec. 8.
The “Little Lions Dancing Through the Ages” clinic will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Stubblefield Center on the UA Fort Smith campus. A $20 fee, which includes a t-shirt and two game tickets, is due by Nov. 25. After Nov. 25 the fee is $25 and includes two tickets but does not guarantee a t-shirt.
The UA Fort Smith Pom Squad, directed by sponsor Mary Young of Fort Smith, will conduct the clinic. Participants will learn a short routine to perform during half-time of the women’s game Dec. 8 against the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Participants will also learn stretches and a band dance and play dancing games.
“As a coach I understand the need for age-appropriate, fun and exciting dances,” Young said. “Little Lions is a wonderful opportunity for dancers of all ages and levels to learn new skills, improve their technique and perfect their performance abilities during a collegiate game.”
Registration forms are available at the UA Fort Smith Box Office in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center. For more information, call Melissa Brown at (479) 788-7305.
