Low Brass Studio

Low Brass Studio

UA Fort Smith Low Brass Studio

Under the direction of Dr. Alexandra Zacharella, the UA Fort Smith Low Brass Studio is a select group of students active in Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Athletic Band, Brass Ensemble, Tuba-Euphonium Choir, Trombone Choir, chamber music, and solo and ensemble competitions. The atmosphere at UA Fort Smith truly prepares low brass students for successful teaching and performance careers. Students will participate in group warm-up sessions, travel to conferences and concerts together, attend studio class where they perform for peers and gain constructive criticism, organize various low brass events on campus, and teach private lessons in the surrounding public schools.

The low brass studio hosts many events throughout the year including Octubafest, Tuba Christmas, Low Brass Valentines, and Trombone Day!

The Low Brass Studio is also involved in the Student Organization, Low Brass Society. Members of the Low Brass Studio serve as officers for the Low Brass Society Board. The Low Brass Society’s mission is to support the Low Brass Arts.
