Regional ACTM Mathematics Contest

Each year the Mathematics Department of the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is proud to host the regional qualifying examinations of the Arkansas Council of Teachers of Mathematics State Mathematics Contest. With the help of our sponsor, Simmons First National Bank, UA Fort Smith is able to provide area students with a morning of refreshments, prizes, and fun in addition to providing the opportunity to match their mathematical abilities with those of other area students. Approximately 400-500 of the brightest junior high and high school students from our area come to our campus to compete for honors. The top three scoring students in each category are awarded trophies. These students, and usually several other high finishers, will go on to the state competitions where they will compete for state honors and scholarships.
