Personal Enrichment

Online Courses (Ed2Go)

Ed2Go offers 6-week online courses in the categories of Computer Literacy, Languages, Personal Finance and Wealth Building, Child Care and Parenting, Grant Writing, Personal Enrichment and more. Students enrolling in an Ed2Go class are allowed access to the online classroom 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with lessons released twice each week. There are brief quizzes at the end of each lesson, and a final exam at the end of the course. A completion certificate is available for printing once the final exam has been completed. American Sign Language

American Sign Language (ASL) ASL is the primary language of thousands of hearing-impaired Americans. Learning to communicate with the hearing-impaired is fun, and the skills you learn can also improve your communication skills in other aspects of your life at home or work.

Beading

Want to have fun while learning how to bead? This class offers basic beading to get anyone started using techniques such as beginning needlework and simple bead crochet.

Oil Painting

Oil painting from still life set up in controlled lighting. The goal is to train the eye to see color objectively, mix color accordingly, and transpose the image to the canvas. Canvas and paint are provided. Students bring their own palette knife, which is the only tool required.

For Seniors

Lifelong Learning Institute

UA Fort Smith's Lifelong Learning Institute program offers learning opportunities for citizens to participate in classes and travel. Membership is open to those 40 and older for a fee of $50 per semester. (Spring - Fall). We are accepting registration for the Fall 2008 semester. All classes are held in the Echols Conference Center

Spanish for Seniors

For individuals at a basic level, this course will consist of conversational Spanish for daily life situations - for example, greetings such as good morning and hello; how to tell time, days of the week, and how to order in a restaurant. Discover how much fun it is to learn a foreign language.
