Academy of the Arts

The Academy of the Arts, a division of Lifelong Learning at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, offers private and class instruction in the performing arts. The Academy teaches students and adults of all ages and skill levels in the Fort Smith and surrounding areas.

River Valley Community Band

If you are someone with musical skills on a band instrument or a music educator, the "River Valley Community Band" can be your answer to performing once again on your instrument. This is a non-credit course. If you played an instrument in high school or in your college band, then you are eligible to participate in "River Valley Community Band."

UA Fort Smith's Season of Entertainment brings national touring programs to our area and, at the same time, showcases our own student productions.

Art and Entertainment Online Courses (Ed2Go)

Follow your dreams and bolster your chances of succeeding as an actor, songwriter, comedian, screenwriter, game programmer, or theme park engineer. Learn to draw. Gain a new appreciation for the masters of art and literature. Explore human nature, symbolism, history, and artistic expression.

Ed2Go offers 6-week online courses in the categories of Entertainment Industry, Digital Photography and Digital Video, Art, History and Literature, and more. Students enrolling in an Ed2Go class are allowed access to the online classroom 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with lessons released twice each week. There are brief quizzes at the end of each lesson, and a final exam at the end of the course. A completion certificate is available for printing once the final exam has been completed.
