Voting
Homecoming Election Voting Process and Voter Qualifications
General Information
- Voting for Homecoming candidates will take place in the Campus Center on Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- No campaigning or campaign materials may be displayed within 25 feet of polling locations.
- The top four (4) King candidates and the top four (4) Queen candidates will be announced Friday, February 15, 2008 via LionsLink announcements.
Voter Qualifications
- A University of Arkansas - Fort Smith ID card is required to vote.
- A student must be enrolled in at least one (1) credit hour.
Voting Method
- Upon showing a University of Arkansas - Fort Smith student ID, each student who is eligible to vote will receive a ballot
- Students may vote only once.
- In the event that a student does not have their ID card or there is a question as to whether a student is eligible to vote, the following enveloping method will be used. Procedures are as follows:
- The poll worker shall verify a student’s ID in the student ID binder, located at the poll. If a student is not listed in the spring semester list of UA Fort Smith students, they are NOT eligible to vote.
- If there are any problems, please contact Stephanie London in room 108 of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center.
Ballot
- Ballots list the students’ information along with a picture.
- Voters may circle the name of whom they plan to vote.
- Voters may pick one (1) male and one (1) female.
- Ballots will be tabulated and certified by a team of a University of Arkansas - Fort Smith administrators and students.
