Monday, February 11, 2008 by 12 p.m. to the Student Activities Office/Freshman Center DATE:
Wednesday, February 27, 2008 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center DESCRIPTION:
This event will help raise money for local charities. A list of charities in the Fort Smith area is included in this packet; participating groups will select a charity to represent. Your team will decorate the sidewalks on our campus to promote your charity, and encourage students, staff, and faculty to stop by the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center to donate to your charity. Your organization will be responsible for a money bin which will be located in the Campus Center to collect the donations. This will give our student organizations, athletic groups, and cheerleaders the opportunity to get their names known to the community. RULES AND GUIDELINES:
- All concrete blocks must be decorated by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.
- Your team may decorate any concrete block on campus, unless already occupied by another organization; location is at the discretion of the student organization.
- A member of each organization must be present between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center to help receive the donations for their selected charity. If you cannot staff your sponsored money bucket, the bucket will be taken to the Freshman Center/Student Activities Office and placed in a safe area until someone from your organization picks up the bucket from this area.
- All monies collected for the local charities must be submitted to Stephanie London, Student Activities Events Coordinator (CC 108) by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. It will then be mailed to the specific charity.
- No inappropriate or obscene information is allowed on any block of concrete. Any action of this sort will cause the organization to be disqualified.
- All chosen charities must be selected and listed on the Chalk It Up for Charity form by Monday, February 11, 2008. Stephanie London or Holly Johnson, Homecoming Director, will contact your organization letting you know which charity you have been given to support.
- Chalk will be provided and available for pick up on Tuesday, February 26 from the Freshman Center/Student Activities Office.
