Program of Study
The Department of World Languages offers two degree programs in Spanish: a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science with Teacher Licensure. The BS with teacher licensure prepares students for certification and entry level positions in the public schools. The BA track in Spanish will help prepare students to meet the qualifications for certain employment opportunities in busines and government service as well as prepare students to undertake graduate work in Spanish. Bilingual skills provide an advantage to a student seeking employment in many areas. In the fields of medicine and business, the ability to communicate with the ever-increasing Hispanic population is vital. In addition, the Department of World Languages offers a Minor in Spanish. This minor is offered as an option for all students working towards a Bachelor's degree at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.Degree Plans
