Testing Guidelines
When taking a test in the Learning Assistance Center (Vines 101), please remember the following policies:
General Policy: Students are not allowed to use any extraneous materials such as books, notes, calculators, etc., while taking a test in the center unless your instructor leaves specific instructions for your test. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of the requirements for your test before you arrive to take it. No electronic devices (cell phones, beepers, etc.) will be allowed in the lab. No children are allowed.
Identification: You must present an official photo identification card, such as a UA Fort Smith ID, driver’s license, or state ID, prior to taking a test. You will not be allowed to take a test without proper identification.
Scheduling: Tests are administered on a walk-in basis during the times noted below. However, your instructor may require you to complete an exam within a specified time frame. In addition, it is your responsibility to allow sufficient time for completing the exam within the published testing hours of the center. All exams are collected at closing.

Being able to test in the center is both a service to faculty and a privilege for students, so we ask that students act with integrity when taking tests. You are asked to adhere to the following rules:
- Sign in with an access code for “Testing” not for the class for which you are taking the test. If you do not have a code, ask for assistance.
- Ask the lab assistant to get the test for you from the file.
- Leave all materials, books, notebooks, calculators, etc., under the table where you are taking the exam.
- Once you start the test, please do not leave the center until you have completed and turned in the test. Under no circumstances should you ever leave the center with your exam. All tests are to be turned in to the lab assistant for your instructor to pick up. Also, please do not visit with friends during the test.
- If a student is suspected of cheating, the lab assistant will report the incident to the Director of the LAC and to the instructor by means of a written report.
- Finally, keep in mind that the LAC is a place for students working on coursework; so, in all probability, it will not be absolutely quiet.
Good luck on your exam!
