On completion of the requirements for the UA Fort Smith Honors Program, the student will:
- Think critically; listen with a comprehending ear; write and speak with clarity, style and a personal voice; and make connections that go beyond the classroom experience. Graduating students will possess skills that exceed the established expectations for the General Education Competencies with special emphasis on Communication (oral. listening, written), Analysis, Global and Cultural Perspectives, and Social Interaction. - Complete a research project under the direction of a faculty member in the student’s discipline. The project will exhibit original thought, organizational skills and planning, synthesis of ideas, and thoroughness and responsibility in its execution. - Apply knowledge and skills to address problems from an interdisciplinary point of view. [Assessment: In course authentic assessment; Senior Thesis]
- Model good citizenship through campus and community leadership and participation in activities that contribute to positive change and the betterment of life. [Assessment: Portfolio]
