In an effort to increase student success through retention and degree completion, the Retention/Completion specialist works in collaboration with faculty, staff , Student Services and community agencies to provide referrals and support services. The specialist is available to assist students struggling with issues that could interfere with their continued attendance at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to refer students by using the attached form. Once the referral form is received, the specialist will contact the student for a personal interview. The specialist will assist the student in evaluating their needs, concerns, and obstacles that impede their success at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. Together the student and specialist will develop goals and a plan to improve their situation. She will then refer the student to the needed campus or community resources.
