Why Choose UA Fort Smith Engineering

One of the greatest things about college is choice. Where to go to school, what to study, what activities to be involved with, college is filled with choices! So why should you choose UA Fort Smith Engineering? Here are a few good reasons...

Small Class Sizes

Our average class size for all engineering courses in Spring 2007 was 12 students! The largest class this year was only 25 students. Don't want to get lost in the crowd? Want individual help and attention? Come to UA Fort Smith!

Excellent Professors

Our professors come from some of the best engineering schools in the country (Purdue, Oklahoma University, Colorado State, Texas Tech, etc.) and are dedicated to students. At UA Fort Smith our professors are paid to be teachers first! Engineering faculty have at least 15 office hours per week (often more) and are easily accessible to our students. All of our faculty have excellent credentials and industrial experience but the biggest reason they came to UA Fort Smith is their love for teaching undergraduates.

Cost

Tuition and fees at UA Fort Smith is much less than most engineering schools. Full time tuition and fees for residents of Arkansas and all states that border Arkansas is only $1995 per semester for lower division courses (15 credit hours) and $3247(current UA-Fayetteville tuition and fees for 15 credit hours) per semester for upper division courses.

Job Opportunities

Fort Smith has a large number of companies that hire our students. Baldor Electric Company, Gerber, Rheem, Trane, and Whirlpool are a few examples. Our engineers are in demand and are getting jobs and internships in the Fort Smith area.

Scholarships

There are many scholarships available to our students! Go to the scholarship page for more information.
