Admission and Graduation Requirements for the Teacher Education Program: A student must be admitted into the College of Education Teacher Education Program by satisfying Note 3 and the graduation requirements of the College of Education. Requirements for admissions may change over time. Students must meet admission requirements current at the time of their final application for admission to the Teacher Education Program.

NOTES:
1: General Education Core Requirements, 2006-2007 catalog- Follow requirements with these stipulations: Composition -use sequence one or three, may not use ENGL 1223; Science- BIOL 1154 is required and select another course without the BIOL prefix; Social Sciences-ECON 2803 and PSYC 1163 are required.
2: Physical Education Activity, two hours: Select from PHYE 1011, 1101, 1261, 1321, 1561, 1571, or 1621(repeatable.)
3: Requirements for Admission in Teacher Education Program (TEP): These must be completed with required grades for admission requirements. See the 2007-2008 Catalog for admission requirements and application processes for the College of Education. Consult with faculty advisor for courses taken after admission to the program.
4: Social Studies and History Requirements, 30 hrs: Social Studies- ANTH 2803, GEOG 2753, and POLS 2853 are required and select two courses from ANTH 3103, POLS 3103, PSYC 3133, or PSYC 3183; History of Europe- HIST 3103, 3053 or HIST 3203; US History- select two courses from HIST 3413, 3423, 3433, 3443, 3453, 3463, 3473, or 4113; Miscellaneous History- select two courses from HIST 3503, 4123, 4133, 4213, 4303, or 4313 .
5:Must be admitted to the College of Education, Teacher Education Program.
The department requires all history courses counted toward fulfillment of the degree requirements to be passed with a C or better.

Transfer Course Information

The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and the equitable treatment of the application of credits for the admissions and degree requirements. Courses transferability is not guaranteed for courses listed in ACTS as "No Comparable Courses." Courses with a D grade will not transfer unless an appeal for exception is submitted in writing to the provost prior to the first day of class.
