BAS - Bachelor of Applied Science

This four-year degree program has been established to serve a growing population of students who have completed a technical career focus and have an associate of applied science degree or associate of applied technology degree. This bachelor's degree is designed to grow professional management skills of the learner and meet the demand for leadership of highly technical professionals in the workplace. Courses help the learner better understand the work environment and the management of time, materials, and people. Special emphasis will be given to improve quality, production, and the assignment of work. This degree will help establish talents of the students as deﬁned by business and industry to keep a skilled workforce in our state who can be highly competitive in the areas of manufacturing, customer service, and the application of technology. Professional studies courses include Policies and Ethics, Safety, Diversity, Consensus Building, Decision Making and Quality Management.

The BAS degree program recognizes the education associated with a variety of technical career paths and provides upper-level electives that can be career speciﬁc. It articulates well with high school programs, the specialized associate degree programs, and professional growth in the workplace to complete a traditional academic preparation leading to the four-year degree. For continued professional advancement, this program will articulate with other schools to lead to advanced degree studies. NOTES
1: General Education Core Requirements, see Graduation Requirements section of this catalog. Follow requirements with this stipulation: mathematics- must take MATH 1403 or higher.
2: These courses are used to determine major courses in residency, see Graduation Requirements.
3: Elective courses. Consult with advisor. Nine hours of upper-level courses from general education areas and 12 hours of upper-level technical courses are required.
4: Career block, 45 hours: Approved AAS or AAT degree from an accredited institution with 45 hours of technical-professional course work.

Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and the equitable treatment of the application of credits for the admissions and degree requirements. Courses with a D grade will not transfer unless an appeal for exception is submitted in writing to the provost prior to the first day of class.
