UA Fort Smith Arboretum

[IMAGE: U A - Fort Smith Main Campus]

Located in the heart of the natural state's river valley, our 127-acre serene and park-like campus is adorned with 1,182 inventoried trees representing 81 species.

Our arboretum vision began with these goals: 1) to provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing learning and working environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and neighbors, and 2) to become an outdoor classroom educating not only students and faculty, but the surrounding community in the importance, planting, care and diversification of the community urban forest and landscape.

The project has been a collaborative effort between many university departments and the Arkansas Forestry Commission. (Acknowledgements)

We invite you to explore the arboreous environment of our award winning campus and see first hand the beauty, value, and contributions of our urban forest.
