College Preview

College Preview is an adult student workshop that will help you make the transition from work to home and back to school. It includes sessions on scheduling classes, funding your education, and brushing up on study skills. It also explains the admissions process, and adult student orientation.

To register, contact the Office of Adult and Returning Students at 479-788-7319.

Mentor Program

The Mentor Program is a free service designed to help students with their transition to student life at UA Fort Smith. The program pairs incoming students with a currently enrolled adult student in an effort to help students become oriented to the University and feel part of the UA Fort Smith community. We realize that being an adult student may mean balancing education with a job, with family, or with both. Adult students' unique experience and needs may require a level of understanding or assistance that can best be provided by another adult student. The Mentor Program can help your needs. If you would like to have a mentor, please complete the Mentor Program Application form and return it to the office located in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, lower level, behind the Freshman Center/Student Activities Office.

Organization of Adult and Returning Students (OARS)

Join the student association of adults and returning students for support and social interaction. OARS functions include workshops, seminars, and family functions. To join the association, complete the OARS Membership form (PDF) and return it to the the organizational office located in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, Room 107.
