What We Offer

Fall and Spring Offerings Jordan Barnett

  • Private, one-on-one instruction for children through adults in: piano, voice, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, and guitar
  • French horn lessons for grades 7-9 and 10-12
  • Drum Team - An ensemble of drummers
  • Children's Choir for grades 3 - 6
  • Children's Choir for grades 6 - 9
  • Show Choir Kidz for grades 3 - 7
  • Musikgarten - Music, Movement, & Theatre classes
    for ages infant - 7
  • Art Classes for grades 1 - 3 and 4 - 6
  • Three Acting classes - Grades 3 - 6, 7 - 9, 10 - 12
  • YAG Players (Young Actors Guild) small theatre productions for grades 3 - 6
  • Major theatre productions

Summer Offerings - June - July

  • Private, one-on-one instruction for children through adults in: piano, voice, and instrumental
  • Drum Team - An ensemble for students enrolled in private lessons
  • Musikgarten for Preschoolers - classes for infants through Pre-K

Summer Camp - July 27 - August 1, 2009

  • Summer Camp Explozion - Original production of Li'l Abner that includes activities in music, theatre, dance and art. Camp is for students entering grades 3-11.
  • KinderKidz Camp - A preschool camp of music, movement, and theatre for babies - 7 years
  • Xtreme Artz KidFest - A back-to-school bash for everyone on Saturday, August 1 from 10-1 in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center Reynolds Room. KidFest includes games and Camp Explozion production of Li'l Abner.

The Purpose of the Academy

  • Build a strong sense of connection between the community and the UA Fort Smith campus.
  • Attain excellence in the arts as we provide quality instruction to students of all ages and levels.
  • Provide opportunities for teachers, students, and performers to meet for collaborative learning.
  • Provide performance opportunities through recitals, festivals, exhibitions, tours, master classes, and stage productions.
